John Bright: Where there's muck...

Can you believe that this man is a leading Birmingham businessman and runs Moseley rugby club?
Just look at the state of him.

I'm tempted to say that this is Alan Adam in his usual attire – because very often it is – but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt given he was part of a large scale clean up of Billesley Common last weekend. His moment of glory came when he decided to perform a one-man hokey-kokey in the muddy and murky stream at the bottom of the common. You put your left leg in, your left leg out... Yes, you've guessed it, he fell in. But it was a good effort..
You should have seen all of the junk removed from the undergrowth – surreal to see a suntan bed, fire extinguisher and life buoy hauled out in quick succession. More than 60 people from Moseley Rugby Club, whose ground is at Billesley Common, joined forces with a local youth club and a group of residents under Peter Haylor, founder and chairman of the Valley Riverside Project, to spruce the place up. More than 50 sacks of rubbish were removed. And if anyone finds a half decent suit in their local charity shop would you send it to Alan, please.
